We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Ski Instructors to lead our team of instructors and ensure the highest standard of instruction and safety for our students. As the Head of Ski Instructors, you will be responsible for managing instructor development, overseeing lesson quality, and coordinating with other departments to deliver exceptional guest experiences. Your leadership will help shape the future of our ski school and contribute to the growth and success of our programs
Instructor Leadership: Lead, mentor, and support a team of ski instructors. Provide guidance on teaching methods, safety protocols, and professional development.
School Policies Compliance: Make sure that all instructors are abiding by the school policies, timing, hygiene, and discipline.
Lesson Quality Assurance: Monitor and evaluate the quality of lessons to ensure that instructional standards are maintained. Conduct periodic performance reviews and provide feedback to instructors.
Curriculum Development: Develop and refine lesson plans and instructional programs for various levels, from beginner to advanced. Ensure lessons are aligned with industry best practices and safety standards.
Instructor Training & Certification: Organize and oversee training programs, clinics, and certification courses for ski instructors. Ensure that all instructors meet the required qualifications and stay up to date with the latest teaching techniques.
Scheduling and Resource Allocation: Collaborate with the Operations Manager to schedule instructors based on client demand, lesson type, and instructor expertise. Ensure adequate staffing levels, especially during peak seasons.
Customer Feedback Management: Collect and analyze feedback from students and parents to identify areas for improvement in instructional quality. Make adjustments to lesson formats or instructor training as needed.
Safety Management: Ensure all ski instructors follow the highest safety standards and protocols during lessons. Work with the Ski Patrol and Operations Manager to address safety issues on the slopes.
Instructor Development: Foster a positive and growth-oriented environment by encouraging instructors to continually improve their skills and certifications. Create career development plans for junior instructors.
Collaboration with Other Departments: Work closely with the Operations Manager, Reservations Team, and Customer Service to ensure smooth coordination of lessons and instructor availability.
Experience in Reservations or Customer Service: 1-3 years of experience in reservations, events planning, hospitality, or customer service role, ideally in a ski school, resort, or recreational environment.
Strong Leadership and Communication Skills: Excellent verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly provide information and address customer concerns.
Proficiency in Reservations Systems: Experience using Excel or reservations software or booking systems, with the ability to quickly learn new platforms.
Organizational Skills: Attention to detail and accuracy when handling bookings, payments, and schedules.
Customer-Oriented Mindset: A friendly, approachable attitude and a commitment to providing exceptional service to clients.
Problem-Solving Abilities: Able to handle booking conflicts, changes, and customer issues in a calm and professional manner.
Flexibility: Willingness to work during busy periods, including weekends, holidays, and peak ski seasons.
Experience as a Ski Instructor: 5+ years of experience as a certified ski instructor, with a proven track record of high-quality teaching and leadership.
Leadership and Mentoring Skills: Prior experience managing or leading a team of instructors, with the ability to motivate and inspire others.
Skiing Certifications: Certification through a recognized ski instruction organization.
Strong Communication Skills: Ability to clearly communicate with both instructors and students. Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with staff and clients.
Organizational Skills: Ability to manage instructor schedules, training programs, and lesson plans efficiently.
Commitment to Safety: Strong understanding of skiing safety protocols and the ability to enforce them among the instructional team.
Problem-Solving Abilities: Ability to handle instructor or client issues with professionalism and resolve operational challenges.
